Overview

ClientWorks is LPL Financial’s advisor platform. This two-way sync keeps contact info—like addresses and phone numbers—automatically updated between ClientWorks and Wealthbox. Changes in one system appear instantly in the other, reducing manual updates and ensuring accurate client records. Advisors can also view ClientWorks account details in Wealthbox, including account number, title, type, class, and value. Plus, single sign-on (SSO) allows easy switching between platforms without separate logins.

Key Features

  • Financial Account Sync: Financial account information from LPL appears in the LPL Financial tab of a Wealthbox contact record. This data is synced one-way from LPL to Wealthbox.

  • Two-Way Contact Sync: Two-way data integration between Wealthbox and LPL ClientWorks automatically shares contact data, eliminating manual entry and reconciliation for advisors.

Step 3: Link ClientWorks clients to Wealthbox

Linking a ClientWorks record to Wealthbox is required for data sync using Financial Accounts and Two-Way Contact Sync. For any new clients or unlinked contacts in Wealthbox, you must link them manually from ClientWorks, as this cannot be done automatically. Note: Only one user in the account will need to complete this.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Do I have to enable both the financial account sync and the two-way contact sync?
A: No, each Wealthbox user can choose which features to enable. You can turn on just the financial account sync, two-way contact sync, or both—depending on your preferences and workflow needs.

Q: Who needs to link ClientWorks clients to Wealthbox?
A: Only one user per account needs to complete the client linking step. Once done, the integration will reflect across your firm’s shared Wealthbox workspace.

Q: What happens when I update a contact’s phone number or address in one system?
A: When two-way contact sync is enabled, updates to client contact info in Wealthbox or ClientWorks automatically appear in the other platform, eliminating the need for duplicate entry or manual updates.

Q: Can I register for the integration from either Wealthbox or ClientWorks?
A: Yes, you can initiate the advisor registration process from within either platform. In Wealthbox, go to the Applications menu and click "Connect" next to the LPL Financial app. In ClientWorks, navigate to the Wealthbox CRM Resource Center page to begin.
