Linking a ClientWorks record to Wealthbox within ClientWorks is necessary to allow for data synchronization between the two platforms to use the Financial Account Sync and Two-Way Contact Sync feature.
Moving forward, after integration is enabled:
When you have a new client, contact, or prospect, or see that one of your contact records in Wealthbox is not linked to ClientWorks, you will need to link the client to Wealthbox from ClientWorks. Currently, there is no way to have this happen automatically.
Details about linking clients in ClientWorks to Wealthbox and the affected features
Financial Account Sync

For Financial Account sync purposes, any records that are linked will remain in a ‘Pending’ status until the overnight files are processed; therefore will appear in Wealthbox the next day.
- Wealthbox will automatically match client records/accounts if there is a match on SSN/Tax ID. If there is no match, then Wealthbox will search on first and last name. If there is no match, you can quickly find the client by using the search field.
Two-Way Contact Sync
- Once a client is linked to Wealthbox and the two-way contact sync is enabled, contact records will begin to reconcile in real-time, ensuring that updates made in either Wealthbox or ClientWorks are automatically reflected in both systems. See "How to use the two-way sync integration between Wealthbox and LPL ClientWorks" for more information about setting up the two-way contact sync.

Merge Duplicates Feature: The merge duplicate feature cannot be used while a contact record is linked in ClientWorks.
To resolve duplicate contact records, start by unlinking the contact in LPL by clicking “Unlink from Wealthbox.” This will disconnect the ClientWorks and Wealthbox records.
Next, return to Wealthbox to merge the duplicate contacts. Once the merge is complete, go back to LPL and select “Link to Wealthbox” to reconnect the contact.
Note: If the Social Security Number is missing or if the contact’s name was changed during the merge, the system may generate a sync notice instead of automatically linking the records.
Linking multiple clients in ClientWorks to Wealthbox
You can link one record at a time, which can be done on the Clients tab or Client Summary page for a specific client, or you can bulk link up to 50 records at a time.

To link multiple clients at once, click on the checkbox next to each record you wish to link.

Once records are selected, click Actions > and select Wealthbox.

Click on 'Link to Wealthbox.'

Link Client Record modal will appear. Review the client names and click 'Confirm.'
Linking a single client in ClientWorks to Wealthbox

Click on the Clients tab.

In the Search box, search for the client you would like to link.

Click the context menu next to the client name.

Select Wealthbox.

Click on 'Link to Wealthbox.'

The Link Client Record modal will appear. Review the client’s name and click Confirm.
Viewing a client, contact, or prospect and navigating between ClientWorks and Wealthbox
When you have established a link with Wealthbox, you will have the option to select ‘View in Wealthbox’ for that record. Clicking this will open up the Wealthbox contact record page with that client in context. This can be done on the Clients tab or Client Summary page for a specific client.

On the Client Summary page, click the Actions menu.

Select Wealthbox.

Click on View in Wealthbox.

A new tab will open and land you on the Wealthbox contact record page with that client in context.

On the Contact Record page in Wealthbox, click on LPL Financial and then click on the icon

A new tab will open and land you onto the ClientWorks Client Summary page with that client in context.
Unlinking a client, contact, or prospect in ClientWorks to Wealthbox
If you decide to unlink a client, contact, or prospect, you can either unlink one record at a time or bulk-unlink up to 50 records at a time. Once the overnight files are processed, data for the unlinked record will no longer be sent to Wealthbox and, therefore, will no longer appear in the LPL Financial section on the contact record page in Wealthbox the next day.

From the Clients tab, in the Search box, search for the client you would like to unlink.
