How to Link Client Records from LPL ClientWorks to Wealthbox

When you have a new client, contact, or prospect or see that one of your contact records in Wealthbox is not linked to ClientWorks, there is a quick way to establish that link. You have the ability to link one record at a time which can be done on the Clients tab or Client Summary page for a specific client. You can also bulk link up to 50 records at a time.

Details about linking clients in ClientWorks to Wealthbox:

  • Any records that are linked will remain in a ‘Pending’ status until the overnight files are processed, therefore will appear in Wealthbox the next day.

  • If the contact record you are choosing to link in ClientWorks does not have an existing contact record established in Wealthbox, you will need to create that in Wealthbox in order for the LPL data to appear in the LPL Financial section of the Wealthbox contact record page.

    • Once the bi-directional integration is launched, a contact record will automatically be created in Wealthbox.

  • Wealthbox will automatically match client record/accounts if there is a match on SSN/Tax ID, if there is no match then Wealthbox will search on first and last name. If there is no match, you can quickly find the client by using the search field.

Linking multiple clients in ClientWorks to Wealthbox

  1. To link multiple clients at once, click on the checkbox next to each record you wish to link.

  2. Once records are selected, click on the bulk context menu and select Wealthbox.

  3. Click on Link to Wealthbox.

  4. Link Client Record modal will appear. Review the client names and click Confirm.

Linking a single client in ClientWorks to Wealthbox

  1. Click on the Clients tab.

  2. In the Search box, search for the client you would like to link.

  3. Click the context menu next to the client name.

  4. Select Wealthbox.

  5. Click on Link to Wealthbox.

  6. Link Client Record modal will appear. Review the client’s name and click Confirm.

Viewing a client, contact or prospect and navigating between ClientWorks and Wealthbox

When you have established a link with Wealthbox, once the overnight files have been processed you will have the option to select ‘View in Wealthbox’ for that record. Clicking this will open up the Wealthbox contact record page with that client in context. This can be done on the Clients tab or Client Summary page for a specific client.

Note: Wealthbox will automatically match client record/accounts if there is a match on SSN/Tax ID, if there is no match then Wealthbox will search on first and last name. If there is no match, you can quickly find the client by using the search field.

  1. On the Client Summary page, click the Actions menu.

  2. Select Wealthbox.

  3. Click on View in Wealthbox.

  4. A new tab will open and land you onto the Wealthbox contact record page with that client in context.

  1. On the Contact Record page in Wealthbox, click on LPL Financial and then click on the icon

  2. A new tab will open and land you onto the ClientWorks Client Summary page with that client in context.

  1. Navigate to the Contact Record page for the client you want to view

  2. Click on the LPL Financial tab

  3. Click on the LPL Financial account number

  4. You are able to see detailed account information including holdings, retirement info, gain/loss, and annuity info.

Unlinking a client, contact, or prospect in ClientWorks to Wealthbox

If you decide to unlink a client, contact, or prospect, you can either unlink one record at a time or bulk-unlink up to 50 records at a time. Once the overnight files are processed, data for the unlinked record will no longer be sent to Wealthbox and, therefore, will no longer appear in the LPL Financial section on the contact record page in Wealthbox the next day.

  1. From the Clients tab, in the Search box, search for the client you would like to unlink.

  2. Click the context menu next to the client name.

  3. Select Wealthbox.

  4. Click on Unlink from Wealthbox.

  5. The unlink Client Record modal will appear. Review the client’s name and click Confirm.

Bulk-unlinking clients, contacts, or prospects in ClientWorks to Wealthbox

  1. To unlink multiple clients at once, click on the checkbox next to each record you wish to unlink.
