Overview

This article explains how to connect Egnyte and Wealthbox CRM using Zapier, so activity in one app can automatically trigger an action in the other — for example, creating a Wealthbox task whenever a new file is added to an Egnyte folder.

What is the Egnyte–Wealthbox integration?

The Egnyte–Wealthbox integration is an automated connection, built through Zapier, between Egnyte's file storage system and Wealthbox's CRM. It is not a native, built-in integration — it runs through Zapier, a third-party automation platform.

How does it work?

Zapier links the two apps using a trigger (an event in one app) and an action (a resulting event in the other app). For example, when a new file is added to a specified Egnyte folder, Zapier can automatically create a matching task or note in Wealthbox.

Available Egnyte triggers

  • New File in Folder — starts the automation when a new file appears in a specified folder.
  • New File — starts the automation instantly when a file is added to any folder or subfolder.

Step-by-step setup instructions

  1. Sign in to Zapier, or create a free account.
  2. Select Create Zap.
  3. Choose Egnyte as the trigger app.
  4. Select a trigger event, such as New File in Folder.
  5. Connect your Egnyte account and enter your login credentials when prompted.
  6. Specify the folder you want Zapier to monitor.
  7. Choose Wealthbox CRM as the action app.
  8. Select an action event, such as Create Task.
  9. Connect your Wealthbox account and enter your login credentials when prompted.
  10. Map the fields you want to pass from Egnyte into Wealthbox, such as file name into task name.
  11. Select Test step to confirm the data passes correctly.
  12. Turn on the Zap to activate the automation.

Troubleshooting steps

  • Issue: New Egnyte files aren't triggering the Zap. Solution: Confirm the folder path entered in step 6 is correct and that your Egnyte account has permission to access that folder.
  • Issue: The automation is delayed. Solution: On Zapier's free plan, folder-polling triggers check for new files every 15 minutes. Use the instant New File trigger, or upgrade your Zapier plan, for faster automation.
  • Issue: The Wealthbox action isn't available to select. Solution: Some triggers, such as Contact Updated, are limited to Premier and Enterprise Wealthbox plans. Confirm your plan level supports the trigger or action you're trying to use.
  • Issue: The Zap test fails at the Wealthbox step. Solution: Reconnect your Wealthbox account under the Zap's account settings and confirm all required fields (marked Required) are mapped.

FAQ

  • Can I trigger from Wealthbox instead of Egnyte? Yes. Any Wealthbox trigger, such as New Opportunity, can be paired with an Egnyte action, such as Create Folder.
  • Do I need to know how to code to set this up? No. The setup is done through Zapier's visual builder.
  • Can I connect more than one Egnyte folder or Wealthbox workflow? Yes. Each automation is set up as its own Zap, so you can create multiple Zaps to cover different folders, triggers, or actions.
