Wealthbox reports are highly customizable, enabling you to filter data, add custom fields, and organize or exclude specific contact types such as persons, households, or companies. Below are detailed instructions to help you create, group, and optimize your reports.
Filtering Contact Reports by Type
Wealthbox allows you to filter contact reports based on their type, such as persons, households, or companies. Here’s how you can achieve this:
- To filter for a specific type of contact, use the Type field in the filter options. For instance:
- Select Type - is - Person to include only person contacts.
- Select Type - is - Household to filter for household contacts.
- Select Type - is - Company to include only company contacts.
- Use Type - is not - Household to exclude households from the report.
- A similar filter can be applied to show only active contacts: Active - is - true.
Displaying Household Data with Custom Fields
To include household information along with associated custom fields, such as a review month, follow these steps:
- Open the Report Builder and create a Contact Report.
- Add the relevant custom field (e.g., "Review Month") to the Fields to Display section.
- Group the data by Household to ensure all household-related entries are consolidated.
- Optionally, add individual contact names alongside households for full visibility into data relationships.
Adding Notes to Reports
If you intend to display notes associated with households or individual contacts, follow these instructions:
- Go to the Reports tab.
- Select Note as the Report Object.
- Name the report as desired.
- Apply any filters (e.g., to find notes tagged with "Annual Review").
- Under Selected Fields, include options such as: - Related To to link notes to their respective contacts or households. - Content Text to display the actual content of the notes. - Optional fields like Tag, Created Date, and Content.
- Group the report results by Related To, enabling consolidated visibility for each household or contact.
Workarounds for Specific Limitations
If you want to view only specific household custom fields but are unable to directly filter the report for them, use the following steps as a workaround:
- Set Contact Type = Household to ensure only household contacts are included.
- Add all relevant custom fields to the columns displayed in the report.
- Use grouping by Household to organize the data.
- Blank fields in the report indicate no value has been entered, while populated fields mean those data points are available.
Tips for Optimizing Wealthbox Reports
- Use filters such as Active - is - true to streamline data and show only relevant contacts.
- Leverage grouping at multiple levels (e.g., by Household, then by custom fields) for easy interpretation.
- Customize reports using available fields like Review Month, Notes, or Contact Type for tailored insights.
