The Envestnet Integration

The Envestnet integration allows advisors to connect client data between Wealthbox and Envestnet, enabling single sign-on (SSO), account linking, and proposal creation—all from within Wealthbox.

  • Account linking and proposal creation in Wealthbox require accounts assigned directly to the user in Envestnet. Those with Sponsor entitlement or no assigned accounts must use Envestnet to view accounts.

How to enable the Envestnet integration

Before using the integration, your firm must complete the setup process with Envestnet:

  1. Contact Your Envestnet Account Manager
    Request access to the Wealthbox integration. Your account manager will provide a third-party data-sharing agreement that must be completed at the firm level.
  2. Complete and Submit the Agreement
    After the agreement is signed and processed, Envestnet will enable the integration on their side.
  3. Access Wealthbox from Envestnet
    Once enabled, you’ll see a Wealthbox button within your Envestnet Launchpad.
    Clicking this button will notify you that you are being redirected out of Envestnet, and then take you to the Wealthbox login screen.
  4. Log in to Wealthbox
    After logging in, SSO from Envestnet into Wealthbox will be completed.
  5. In Wealthbox, navigate to Three Dots > Applications > Envestnet > Settings.

  6. Click the Connect Envestnet button.
    Once connected, the integration is fully established.

Using the Envestnet integration

Single Sing-On to Envestnet Dashboard

Click the (1) square dot icon to see an (2) Envestnet button in Wealthbox. Clicking this will SSO you back into the Envestnet dashboard.

Viewing Linked Accounts

When viewing a Wealthbox contact, any matching accounts from Envestnet will be displayed in the Envestnet tab. You can also manage linked clients if an account does not automatically appear.

Single Sign-On from Contact Record

Within a Wealthbox contact, clicking the “Open in Envestnet” button will perform a targeted SSO—taking you directly to that client’s account details in Envestnet.

Starting a Proposal for an Existing Client

  1. In Wealthbox, click the Send to button from the Client Details widget.

  2. Select Envestnet as the destination.
  3. Search for the existing household in Envestnet, enter a proposal name, and click Start Proposal.

  4. You will be redirected to Envestnet, where you can complete the proposal process.

Starting a Proposal for a New Client

If a client exists in Wealthbox but not in Envestnet:

  1. In Wealthbox, click the Send to Proposal button from the Client Details widget.

  2. Click New Client.
  3. Enter the Envestnet Client Name and Envestnet Proposal Name.

  4. Click Start Proposal, and the system will automatically create and link a new household in Envestnet.
  5. You will be redirected to Envestnet to complete the proposal.

The new client will then appear in your Envestnet dashboard under Clients.
