What is Altruist? 

Altruist is a modern custodial platform for financial advisors. Its integration with Wealthbox enables advisors to view Altruist account balances, holdings, and other details directly within a Wealthbox contact record. Users can also onboard new clients and open Altruist accounts by importing contact data straight from Wealthbox.

How Does the Integration Work?

  • View synced Altruist account information—such as holdings and balances—within Wealthbox contact records. Key client and account data is automatically updated between platforms to minimize errors, reduce manual data entry, and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Financial advisors can streamline the creation of new accounts by integrating their customer data from Wealthbox with custodial data on the Altruist platform, eliminating the need for manual entry.

How to Enable the Integration

  1. From your Wealthbox account, select the three dots () in the upper-right, click "Applications", locate "Altruist", then select the "Settings" button.
  2. On the Altruist page, select "Connect "and follow the prompts to authenticate your Altruist account.
  3. Once authorized, Wealthbox will sync client accounts from Altruist and display relevant data within client records.

Q: What information is synced from Altruist to Wealthbox?
A: The integration syncs client account balances, positions, and more from Altruist into Wealthbox, allowing you to view relevant account details directly within the associated contact records.

Q: Do I need to manually link client accounts between Altruist and Wealthbox?
A: No. Once the integration is enabled and authorized, client accounts are automatically linked, helping eliminate manual data entry. 

Q: Where will I see Altruist account data appear in Wealthbox?
A: After connecting your Altruist and Wealthbox accounts, Wealthbox will begin syncing client accounts. You’ll then see relevant account details appear within the "Altruist" tab of the associated contact records.

Q: How does Altruist match client information to Wealthbox? 
A: Altruist matches account and contact information to Wealthbox by name. If the name matches in Altruist with what shows for the contact name in Wealthbox, they should link immediately.
