What is AdvisorStream?
AdvisorStream is a digital marketing platform that helps financial advisors drive growth through highly personalized communications that investors enjoy and trust. AdvisorStream’s bi-directional integration with Wealthbox ensures contacts are nurtured with highly engaging, timely, and personalized content that sparks actions and revenue.
The Wealthbox integration allows users to connect their Wealthbox account to AdvisorStream and enable data-sharing features, including contact syncing, pushing leads generated in AdvisorStream to Opportunities in Wealthbox, and logging investor content activity as notes in Wealthbox. Contact records sync one-way from Wealthbox to AdvisorStream, with ongoing automatic updates to keep information current.
How Does the AdvisorStream Integration Work?
After connecting, AdvisorStream pulls contacts from Wealthbox during the initial sync and performs automatic nightly syncs between 1 AM and 3 AM EST to update new or modified emails.
These contacts appear in AdvisorStream’s “Wealthbox Contacts” list and are read-only, meaning any changes must be made in Wealthbox, as updates won’t sync back from AdvisorStream.
Leads from AdvisorStream’s opt-in forms are automatically added to Wealthbox as Opportunities and also appear in the “Wealthbox Opportunities” list in AdvisorStream.
Key Features:
- Contact Sync: Sync Wealthbox contacts with AdvisorStream to help keep client information up to date.
- Automatic Nightly Sync: New or updated email addresses sync each night automatically between 1:00 AM and 3:00 AM EST.
- Leads to Opportunities: Organic leads generated in AdvisorStream are automatically added to Wealthbox as Opportunities.
- Content Engagement Tracking: Investor activity, such as content views in AdvisorStream, is logged as a note on the contact record in Wealthbox.
- Dedicated Contact Lists: Synced contacts are added to an AdvisorStream list called “Wealthbox Contacts,” and leads are added to “Wealthbox Opportunities.”
How to Enable the Integration
- Click on your name in the top right corner and click Account & Settings.
- From the left-hand menu, click on Integrations.
- Click the Wealthbox Integration option.
- Click Connect Account (this will redirect to a Wealthbox sign-in page).
- Sign in to your Wealthbox account using your Wealthbox login credentials to complete the connection.
- Once connected, within your AdvisorStream account, click Sync Contacts to begin the sync.
Important: Make sure your contacts in Wealthbox are not set to Private (Only Me), or they will not sync to AdvisorStream. You can bulk update the contact permissions on the Contacts Page > Bulk Actions > Update: Permissions to Everyone.
Important Contact Eligibility Rules
For a contact to sync from Wealthbox to AdvisorStream, the contact must:
- Be classified as a “Person” record in Wealthbox
- Business entities, trusts, and other non-person records will not sync
- Have an Active/Current status in Wealthbox
- Inactive contacts will not sync
- Have a valid email address
If a contact does not meet all these criteria above, it will not be pulled into AdvisorStream.
Additional Notes & Examples
- Adding Contacts: Manually creating a contact in AdvisorStream will not sync it back to Wealthbox.
- Deleting Contacts: Removing a Wealthbox contact in AdvisorStream will not delete it from Wealthbox.
- Contact Management: Adding, editing, or deleting contacts should always be done within Wealthbox.
Data Synced
- Contacts: First Name, Last Name, Email Address
- Opportunities: Lead First Name, Last Name, Email Address (optional toggle setting in AdvisorStream)

There is no native filtering mechanism within the integration to selectively sync only certain groups of active person contacts. Segmentation must therefore be handled after the sync inside AdvisorStream.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: Why are my Wealthbox contact lists or tag groups not showing up in AdvisorStream?
A: Wealthbox lists or tag groups do not sync directly into AdvisorStream. Any lists or tag groups you see in AdvisorStream are created there after contacts are synced.
Q: Why don’t I see new leads from AdvisorStream in Wealthbox?
A: Leads are only sent to Wealthbox if the organic lead feature is enabled in AdvisorStream. If enabled, new leads will be created as Opportunities in Wealthbox and added to the “Wealthbox Opportunities” list in AdvisorStream.
Q: Why did my AdvisorStream contact lists suddenly become empty?
A: This usually happens when contacts no longer meet the sync criteria. Common reasons include missing email addresses, contacts being marked inactive, or changes to the contact type (for example, no longer listed as a “Person”). It can also happen if the integration was disconnected and needs to be reauthorized.
