From time to time, you may need to remove outdated or duplicate contact records from your Wealthbox workspace. Whether you're cleaning up your database or managing transitions, Wealthbox provides both individual and bulk deletion options to help you maintain a clean and accurate contact list.
To delete an individual contact:
-
Go to the contacts list page by clicking “Contacts” on the left-side panel.
-
Click on the contact name.
-
Select the “Edit Contact” link.
-
On the right, select the “Delete” link.
-
Confirm that you would like to delete the contact record, and click the “OK” button.
What happens to related data?
The contact and any notes, tasks, and Workflows linked solely to that contact will also be removed.
Any Opportunities related to the contact will remain under the Opportunities section.
Common questions and best practices when deleting contacts
Q: Can I delete more than one contact at a time or bulk delete contacts?
A: You can bulk delete up to 100 contacts at a time using the "Bulk Actions" option.
See: Can I Delete Multiple Contacts at One Time?
This will permanently remove the selected contacts from your workspace.
Q: Can I restore a deleted contact record?
A: You should be able to recover a deleted contact by navigating to Settings > Trash Can (Under Workspace Section). The Trash Can holds items deleted in your workspace within the last 30 days. Each user's Trash Can shows items that they have deleted, but also things that they created, and were deleted by other users.
Users can only view their trash can in Wealthbox. Each user's Trash Can shows items that they have deleted and items that they created but were deleted by other users.
Best Practices:
- Tag contacts you plan to delete (e.g., cleanup_2025) for review before deletion.
- Set up an internal process for contact management and data hygiene.
- Train team members on deletion protocols to avoid accidental data loss.
