Overview

Blueleaf is an automated reporting and communications platform for financial advisors who want to report on the money they manage, and the business they run, and communicate with clients. The integration with Wealthbox allows advisors to view Blueleaf balances, performance, allocation, and detailed holdings.

How to enable the Blueleaf integration

1️⃣ Generate an API Key in Blueleaf

You can find your Blueleaf API key by going to the Blueleaf Settings page, checking the box “Enable API Access”, and copying the “Current API Token” value. You can then navigate to your integration settings within the “Workspace Settings” of Wealthbox to enter your Blueleaf API key.

2️⃣ Add the API Key Wealthbox

  • In Wealthbox, navigate to the BlueLeaf settings page by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner > Applications >  Blueleaf. 
  • Paste the API token into the API field
  • Click the green "Enable" button.

How does the integration work?

  • Once the integration is enabled, you should see a Blueleaf tab on the contact’s profile above the activity stream.
  • The account details are linked to the contact in Wealthbox by the email address listed on the contact record and the email address the contact has used to create their account in Blueleaf.



Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: What happens if I disconnect the integration?
A: Once disconnected, no new data will sync from Blueleaf to Wealthbox. Previously synced data will no longer display in Wealthbox.

Q: What if account values aren't displayed in Wealthbox?
A: Ensure that you've provided a valid API key from Blueleaf. If you aren't sure if the API key you've provided is valid, Blueleaf's support team can assist with generating a new API key.

Q: How are accounts matched to my contact records?
A: Accounts are matched using the email set on your client's contact record. If their contact does not have a matching email, please update the email set in Wealthbox and Blueleaf so that automated account matching can take place.
