Overview

The Black Diamond Wealth Platform enables advisors to assist their clients throughout the entire wealth management process. Its integration with Wealthbox allows advisors to access client details and review account summaries, holdings, and transactions from Black Diamond reconciled accounts.

Key Features

  • View Black Diamond's reconciled accounts from the client's Contact Record in Wealthbox. 
  • Click on account numbers to access your client's account information.

How to Enable the Integration

  1. Log in to your Wealthbox account.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the screen.
  3. Select “Applications” from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll through the list to find Black Diamond. 
  5. Click “Settings” next to Black Diamond.
 

On the Black Diamond applications page:

  1. Enter your Black Diamond username and password.
  2. Click the "Enable" button.

Wealthbox will start receiving data from Black Diamond within minutes. After processing, you'll have access to account details, holdings, and transactions from the Contact Record page in Wealthbox.

Important: The Black Diamond integration does not import contacts into Wealthbox. You must manually import or create contacts in Wealthbox for their Black Diamond accounts to show up.

 

How Does the Black Diamond Integration Work? 

Activating Black Diamond integration in Wealthbox provides a unified knowledge base for Black Diamond firms, enhancing advisor and investor relationships. Users can create client relationships within Black Diamond for accurate account mapping. Accounts linked to a contact with a valid email will appear in Wealthbox. Users can also manually link accounts if necessary.

Contact matching uses email or first and last name to establish client relationships. If the accounts exist in Black Diamond and are linked to a contact with a valid email, they should show up in Wealthbox. If contacts are on both platforms but not configured as part of a client relationship in Black Diamond or lack matching emails, their accounts will remain blank in Wealthbox. 

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why aren't my client's accounts visible after enabling the integration? 
A: Ensure there's a matching email or first and last name for the client relationship. Also, confirm that the account exists in Black Diamond and is linked to a contact. Contact Black Diamond Support for help with client relationships. 

Q: Can I disconnect Black Diamond after enabling it? 
A: To disconnect, go to the three dots in the upper-right > Applications > find Black Diamond, click 'Settings' > 'Disconnect Black Diamond'. Data will no longer appear in the "Black Diamond" tab within Contact Records. 

Q: Does the Black Diamond integration work with Households? 
A: Yes, it feeds to both 'Person' and 'Household' Contact Records under the "Black Diamond" tab if the correct name and email are provided. 

Q: What should I do if I get an error when enabling the integration? 
A: Verify your Black Diamond username and password to ensure they are correct.
