Capitect offers modern, holistic performance reporting, flexible client billing, and personalized portfolio rebalancing tailored for today’s advisors and their clients. The integration with Wealthbox allows advisors to link clients from Capitect to contacts in Wealthbox to view account details all in one place.

How to Enable the Integration

To use the integration, you'll need to generate API keys from Capitect, and then enable the integration within Wealthbox. Read on for step-by-step instructions...

1️⃣ Generate an API Key in Capitect

  • Log in to Capitect and click on "Integrations" in the header.
  • Select "API Keys"
  • From the API Keys page, click "Add +"
  • Choose Wealthbox.
  • Click the "Create API Key" button.

2️⃣ Enable the Capitect integration in Wealthbox

  • Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of Wealthbox > Applications > "Settings" button for the Capitect application, or click here. 
  • Enter the Capitect ID.
  • Enter the API Key.
  • Click the "Enable" button:

 

How Does the Capitect Integration Work?

Once connected successfully, you will see accounts for matching Capitect clients on contact record pages in Wealthbox within the "Capitect" tab. The data feed allows Capitect to automatically send account data (accounts, balances, positions) on a daily basis. 

 

Important: The Capitect integration does not import contacts into Wealthbox. You will need to manually import or create the contacts in Wealthbox for their Capitect accounts to appear in the system.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: Why am I not seeing data within the Capitect tab of my Contact Records? 
A: Check if they are listed as a client or a member of a client relationship. Additionally, check if you can locate them using the first or last names to see if they appear. Since the integration currently only has access to household names in Capitect, it initially tries to link based on this.
Q: How do I manually link my client's accounts? 
A: If you search for their last name, you should be able to manually link the contact. Automatic linking occurs only if the name in Wealthbox matches the household name in Capitect exactly. The integration attempts to match accounts based on the account names in their system. 
Q: Does each user have to enable the integration from their own profiles? 
A: Yes, like many of our Custodial Integrations, each user in the workspace must enable it individually.
