What is SmartAsset?
SmartAsset publishes articles, guides, reviews, calculators, and tools to help individuals make informed personal finance decisions. Its integration with Wealthbox allows advisors to automatically receive and manage SmartAsset leads within their CRM, including synced prospect data and built-in follow-up tasks—eliminating manual data entry and keeping everything organized.
How Does the Integration Work?
- Automatic Prospect Creation: New prospects are automatically added to your CRM with detailed information, including name, email, phone number, address, and responses from the SmartAsset Match Quiz. Field mappings can be customized to match your CRM’s structure.
- Communication Logging: All interactions—such as phone calls, text messages, and emails—are logged in your CRM, giving your team a complete view of each prospect’s activity.
- Flexible Configuration: Customize how leads are categorized with configurable status, source, and tags. You can also control lead assignment, choose which notes sync to your CRM, and map custom fields to fit your workflow.
- Support for Multiple Configurations: Set up distinct CRM configurations based on prospect source and type, allowing tailored workflows for different lead segments and business requirements.
- Reliable Data Syncing: All data is processed through a sync queue with built-in retry logic, helping ensure information is delivered to your CRM even if there are temporary connection issues.
How to Enable the Integration

From within SmartAsset, click on CRM on the left-hand-side menu.

- Click on Connect to CRM.

- Select Wealthbox under "CRM Configuration", then click Connect to Wealthbox.


- Enter your Wealthbox credentials and click Log in to Wealthbox.

- Success! You've successfully authorized into Wealthbox CRM.
Note: You can turn the CRM toggle ON and have all the leads automatically imported to your CRM, or switch it OFF and import qualified leads with a push of a button from the lead's Details page.
- Next, click on Configure Wealthbox. By clicking this button, you can set how you want leads added to your CRM. You can even create and assign different configurations to different lead types.

Click on Detect all fields to make sure to detect the fields that you already have set up in Wealthbox.
- Once your Wealthbox configuration is ready, be sure to hit Save and assign it to your new leads on the Lead Sources page.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Issue: Why don’t I see a new SmartAsset lead in Wealthbox?
Solution: New leads should be created automatically. If you don’t see one, check that your integration is connected and active. If the issue continues, try reconnecting the integration or contacting Support.
Issue: Why aren’t my calls, texts, or emails showing up in Wealthbox?
Solution: Communication activity is logged automatically once the integration is set up. If interactions aren’t appearing, make sure your communication settings are properly configured and syncing is enabled.
Q: Do I need to manually enter or update lead information in Wealthbox?
A: No. New leads and their details are automatically added to Wealthbox, and interactions like calls, texts, and emails are logged for you.
Q: What information from SmartAsset is added to Wealthbox?
A: When a new lead is created, key details like name, contact information, and responses from the SmartAsset Match Quiz are automatically added to a new contact record in Wealthbox.
Q: Can I customize how SmartAsset leads are organized in Wealthbox?
