How to enable the Schwab integration in Wealthbox

The Firm Security Administrator (FSA) for your firm must first complete this process to allow your firm to access the Schwab integration.

From the three-dot menu in the top right corner of Wealthbox, click on "Applications", then click the "Settings" button for the Schwab application as shown in the below screenshot:

From the Schwab application page, click the "Connect Schwab" button:

A popup window from Schwab Advisor Center will appear, prompting you to enter your credentials and one-time password (OTP) if you have one:

Once you receive the following success message, you can close the window:

Wealthbox will attempt to connect to Schwab and begin transferring accounts for which you have download access in Advisor Center. If you are an FSA, you may be required to accept additional terms and conditions from Schwab for your firm.

Until your FSA completes this process, other users can connect the integration but will not see accounts from Schwab in Wealthbox.

Accounts from Schwab should begin displaying on Wealthbox contact record pages within 24-48 hours.

Please note: The Schwab integration does not import contacts into Wealthbox. You will need to import or create the contacts in Wealthbox manually for their Schwab accounts to appear in the system.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

Q: How often are accounts refreshed from Schwab?
A: Each evening, Wealthbox will attempt to retrieve accounts from Schwab for the previous day. If your OTP (one-time-password) token has expired, you will be prompted to re-enter it when you visit the Schwab tab on a contact record page so you can see up-to-date account details.

Q: How are accounts matched between Schwab and Wealthbox?
A: Accounts display on a Wealthbox contact record based on having "download" permission for the account in Schwab Advisor Center and a matching SSN/Tax ID between the client in Schwab and the contact in Wealthbox. If there is no SSN/Tax ID we look to see if there is an exact match on first and last name.

Q: When will I start seeing Schwab accounts in Wealthbox?
A: Typically, accounts begin to display in Wealthbox after 24-48 hours.
