Note: It’s best to copy the field from this list and paste into your inserted Mail Merge field in MS Word so the format is maintained. For example, a field for “firstname” will not capture the contact’s first name. Instead, you would want “FirstName” inserted into your mail Merge Field.

Custom text fields can be created and added as mail merge fields as well. For example, if you have an "Addressee" field you would like to include for addressing your mailers, this field could be added as a custom text field. As long as you format the inserted mail merge field in the same way you have formatted the custom text field label, the data will be included in your document.
